Building modern F&O solutions with virtual entities

In this workshop, we will take a deep dive into virtual entities and explore the whole new world of possibilities they offer. We will discuss how it has influenced best practices for designing solutions and examine several designs that utilise it. We will walk you through, and do exercises, on how you use the virtual entities to build solutions with tools like: Copilot Studio, Power Automate and Power Apps.

Pre-requisites for the workshop: An Environment. When doing the exercises in this workshop, you need an environment. You can choose to do either do it on a 30 day trial environment or bring your own environment.

Target audience: Everybody is welcome to join, the workshop is designed for individuals coming from the F&O side. You do not need to be a pro in Power Platform, we are here for you.
Developer experience is not required, as we will only use drag and drop tools.

If you bring your own environment, make sure the following requirements are met:
– The F&O environment is Dataverse enabled (T2 environment is recommended).
– Working virtual entities enabled in the environment (usually it works out of the box in all T2 environments)
– Your User have System Administrator security role rights in both F&O and Dataverse
– Your F&O environment has contoso data or a is a fully implemented environment with data.
– Your User have access to Copilot studio
– Your DLPs have all the Power Platform, F&O, and Copilot connectors enabled for both the F&O and Dataverse environments.

Designing Beautiful Apps for Functional Makers: A Masterclass in Fusing Power Apps Capabilities

In the beginning, there were two Power App types – canvas and model-driven. And everything was good…well, kind of. Creating visually compelling apps was still incredibly challenging, often requiring the skills of a front-end developer and a whole bunch of HTML / CSS to make things look pretty. Today, we are a lot more fortunate. With extraordinary capabilities such as custom pages, the division between apps is slowly disappearing. But, the challenge of easily embedding canvas apps into model-driven apps still exists. So how can we, as makers, go from building typically functional solutions to something that can impress our colleagues, users and clients? And can this all be done in a nice, efficient, low-code way?

Join us for this all-day workshop as our technical and design experts show you the art of the possible and why bringing canvas and model-driven together is so effective. You’ll discover some of the latest innovations available in the platform, see how easy it is to work with them and also work through a series of lab exercises where you can put what you learnt to practice and walk away with your very own functional and feature-rich application, that blends all of the platform capabilities in an interesting way. With reference to actual real-world usage cases, this workshop will help take your proficient app building skills to the next level!

Data Modeling in Power BI – From Zero to Hero

You have collected your first experiences with Power BI and wondering why the performance of your reports is slow (even when working with a relatively small amount of source rows)? Maybe you are suffering from complicated DAX formulas (which can have their cause in non-optimal modelling)? Or you are just curious about what’s the secret behind the model view?

In any case, this full-day workshop got you covered!

We will start with the very basic foundation and we will work step-by-step from concepts and practical examples to real world problems and how to solve them.
Module “Modelling 101”: Tables, Primary Keys, Foreign Keys, Normal forms, Dimensional modelling, Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault
Module “Modelling Options in Power BI”: Relationships, Cardinality, Cross-filter direction, Data Preparation with DAX , Data Preparation with Power Query
Module “Special Dimensions”: Time & Date, Role-playing dimensions, Hierarchies
Module “Real world examples “: Budgeting, Localized data models, Composite models

From Concept to Intelligent Agent: Build AI Agents with Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry

Struggling to keep pace with ever-growing tasks and business complexity? Looking for a smarter way to streamline cross-functional processes, automate decision-making, and personalize enterprise user experiences? This workshop takes a deep dive into designing, customizing, and integrating intelligent agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio, extended with the advanced capabilities of Azure AI Foundry.

We’ll start by exploring real-life use cases – from automating employee or customer interactions to integrating with systems like Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Teams. You’ll learn how to configure intelligent agents in Copilot Studio using features like multi-turn dialogues, adaptive cards, actions, and external API calls.

The second half of the session focuses on Azure AI Foundry – where you’ll go beyond the basics and learn how to:
– Build, test, and optimize Prompt Flows to generate context-aware responses
– Configure evaluation metrics to assess response quality and performance
– Enable tracing and telemetry to monitor token usage, latency, and model behavior
– Leverage Prompt Flow chaining and retrieval techniques (RAG) to ground answers in enterprise data
– Deploy and manage components using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches with Bicep scripts, enabling repeatable, scalable, and governed agent solutions across environments

By the end of this workshop, you’ll be equipped to:
– Identify impactful use cases for intelligent agents
– Build and extend agents in Copilot Studio using advanced features
– Use Azure AI Foundry to configure, evaluate, and trace Prompt Flows – ensuring your solutions are reliable, scalable, and measurable

The ALM workshop you’ve been waiting for: Azure DevOps made easy!

This is the workshop where ALM “finally clicks”! Learning Azure DevOps is critical if you want to apply professional software best practices to Low Code. Sean and Parvez train Developers, Consultants and Makers every month on ALM, and have an unmatched reputation of making complex topics understandable, and even fun.

In this all-day workshop you’ll start with a simple solution, and in a few hours build a full-blown enterprise level ALM pipeline in Azure DevOps, you can begin implementing at your work tomorrow.

Perfect for Developers seeking a true ALM/CICD experience and Low Coders who have complex environments and Power Platform Pipelines are just not enough.

Part 1 – First A-ha Moment:
Starting in a Dev Dataverse solution, we’re going to connect it to source control in a few easy steps. We’ll show you how the source control benefits of traceability, collaboration and version history unleash your superpowers!

Part 2 – Your PM Will love you:
Everything is going well but oh no! There is a major fire in Production! Normally you would deploy a new solution with a fix, but not anymore! You’ll leverage the pipeline you just built to roll back and avoid disaster. Next, we’ll take your existing User Stories and Tasks, and tie them to the deployments. You’ll see how much of a life-saver it is when you have a history of changes; Plus your Project Manager will be delighted because there’s actual “proof” work is done.

Part 3 – AI & Advanced Features:
We’ve saved the best for last – AI in Solution Deployment! We’ll showcase how AI can assist in not only tracking work completion, but spot issues in Solutions before they’re deployed. Prevent the fire before it starts. We’ll dive into complex deployment scenarios and you’ll have the opportunity to spot where the problem can be and how to resolve it.

This is not some generic “Demo of how to set up CICD”; we’re moving fast, covering a lot, and without anyone getting lost because we know exactly how tricky this topic can be.
