In today’s speaker story, we’re catching up with one of the Microsoft Power Platform Advocates 🥑, a returning speaker at Nordic Summit and a familiar face in the community. Say hello to Daniel Laskewitz!

About Daniel

Daniel lives in Utrecht, The Netherlands. He works at Microsoft as a Power Platform Advocate, which means he gets to work with the Power Platform Community every day. Lucky guy!

He’s deeply involved in the community. You can frequently see him in local communities as well as flying across the globe to attend Micrsoft and community events as a speaker and he continuously delivers the latest news! Daniels key initiatives include:

As a fun fact Daniel mentions he has built fun connectors for the Power Platform like Chuck Norris IO and Icanhazdadjoke.com! In his own words:

“Especially the Chuck Norris Jokes are very business critical! 😁 “

In case you missed it, he has also created a very cool lab How to connect MCP to Copilot Studio, complete with a blog post and video!

Favourite part of the platform

When asked about his top pick in the Power Platform, Daniel shared:

I love the better together stories in the Power Platform, so I love it when I can use multiple products together with the Power Platform. Whether it’s Azure, Microsoft 365, or Dynamics 365 – I love the integrations in there.”

Nordic Summit 2024

Daniel has been at all Nordic Summits so far, so of course he couldn’t miss the 2024 edition, he says. Together with MVP Mats Necker he did a pre-day workshop about Custom Connectors and he presented on Copilot Studio on the Saturday! 🥳

What did he like the most?

I love the community in the Nordics! They are so knowledgeable and kind! The sessions at the event were of great quality and I got a lot of great feedback on how we (Microsoft) can improve the Power Platform!”

Best session and why?

“I loved the disaster recovery session by Cathrine and Marius. They did a great job at presenting an important topic in a fun and informative way! I always love seeing local people present!”

What about the future?

We’re happy to have Daniel back for this year’s event, co-presenting 🧠 Model Context Protocol vs. Connectors: Rethinking Integration in the Power Platform 💡 with Mats Necker and ✨ Optimizing Canvas Apps for maintainability, reusability, and performance with Cathrine Bruvold!

We asked Daniel about the one thing he would like to see at Nordic Summit 2025. He mentions he would love to see the event maintain its high quality. It’s been an absolute pleasure to attend every edition so far, he says, adding that the event has consistently been of exceptional quality.

“Thanks to the amazing organizing team for organizing such a great conference!”

Well thank you Daniel, for being such a great supporter to us, a returning speaker and for being a guest on this blog! 🥰

See you in September!
