In today’s story, you’ll meet with someone who has specialized right in the middle between Dataverse / Dynamics 365 CE apps and Dynamics 365 F&O. He’s originally from the “CRM-side” but has been involved in several projects in which integrating these two worlds have been a crucial part of the requirements. He is a blogger, a FastTrack Solution Architect, and he’s based in Sweden.
Say hi to Ted Olsson!

Ted was there during the early dual-write days, participating in preview programs to help shape the integration framework between F&O and Dataverse. More about that will follow, but first, let’s see what brought him to Nordic Summit and how his experience was at the event 2024.
Nordic Summit 2024
Ted travelled from Malmö to Oslo together with his colleagues and attended as a speaker. What brought him there as a speaker?
It was my first Nordic Summit, but I heard many good things about the conference in the community, Ted says. I also thought it would be fun doing a session “home” in the Nordics, he continues.
Great, the Nordic Summit team were happy to have him! What about Ted’s event experience, what was it like?
There were a lot of good sessions, but what I liked the most was the relaxed atmosphere.
Previously, I had only attended profit-making conferences, and I noticed a difference. I am not saying one is better than the other, but the relaxed atmosphere is definitely on the pro side for a Community Conference.
As favourite session Ted wants to highlight Hitch Hikers Guide to Security – Don’t Panic, with Claire Edgson.
About Ted Olsson
Ted Ohlsson lives in the southern parts of Sweden, outside of the city Malmö. He’s a FTRSA, Power Platform Solution Architect with the special niche: Power Platform F&O crossover.
Ted started his Microsoft journey in 2012 with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 and has been working with the platform since, following the evolution into what the platform is today – Power Platform and related technologies. Today he works at Capgemini as CTO for the Nordic Dynamics 365 division. At the same time, he is delivering as Chief Solution Architect in several multi-Microsoft application implementations.
As a FastTrack Solution Architect and working on projects for customers who needed integration between Dynamics 365 F&O and Dataverse/the CE apps, Ted was involved early in the evolution of the OOB integration framework between Dynamics 365 F&O and Dataverse/Dynamics 365 CE apps. It was as early as the predecessor to dual-write (data integrator) was launched. He worked closely with Microsoft, which gave him unique insight into what was ahead of us. He has now taken learnings from then and the journey to today and made a session out of it.
Ted blogs at Ted Ohlsson – Medium, subjects are, surprisingly not, most often related to dual-write and other integration patterns for Dynamics 365 F&O and Dataverse / Dynamics 365 CE apps.
Fun facts
We asked Ted about a fun fact and he told us about that time he was cocky at first but when on the other side…
It was back in the days when the predecessor to dual-write (data integrator) was launched, he worked closely with Microsoft, and at one point, when a lot of things weren’t working, he said, “You can consult us, and we will fix it” without any intentions with it. Then they came back and gave him a consultant assignment to assist the very first draft of the Filed Service Dataintegrator mappings. Ted says, he of course, had to take it, but wasn’t that cocky when he was on the other side….
Ted has also been a floorball instructor for both seniors and juniors. Perhaps tactics from floorball gave him valuable strategic thinking skills for his projects. Managing the floorball players can also be compared to managing and uplifting clients or team members in a project.
Favourite parts of the platform
When asked about his favourite part of the platform, Ted mentions he loves the whole setup with how easy it is to create new columns, tables and whole data models in Dataverse and the possibilities to quickly get it out in model-driven apps. At the same time being able to do more extensive things in canvas apps, custom pages or extend your business logic with classic development.
Future events
We asked Ted what else he could have wished for at Nordic Summit 2024 so that we can improve for the future.
The answer to that was to have even more speakers from the Nordic countries. Well, what are you waiting for Nordic people? Get your session proposals together and be ready to submit for our next event! You still have plenty of time to explore new areas and gather your findings. 😉
As usual of course we as organizers welcome and love to see session proposals from all parts of the world. 🌎
Thank you Ted for being a guest on this blog. We look forward to seeing you again at a future event!
