Today we’re back with a speaker story! In this post, you’ll meet someone who travelled from Hamburg to Oslo to take part in Nordic Summit 2024, delivering not just one but two sessions: Data Dreams: Bringing Marketing Insights to Life with Power BI & Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and Off to Adventure: AI Explorer’s Guide to Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, together with Vivian Voss. You might recognize her from her blog posts on similar topics and this year she’s also been awarded the MVP title. Say hello to Pauline Kolde!

About Pauline
“I’m Pauline Kolde, usually found around Hamburg. I’m a big fan of Customer Insights Journeys (yep, the artist formerly known as Dynamics 365 Marketing). Serious about customer journeys, but when the laptop’s closed, I’m all about knitting, traveling and good food.”
By day, she leads the Customer Insights Team at Cluster Reply, an IT services company specializing in Microsoft technologies, tools and applications. She helps customers set up their Customer Insight Journeys. Her passion for Customer Insights doesn’t stop at work, she’s just as active in the community, sharing her knowledge on her blog and at speaking engagements.
Pauline mentions she really found love for the conferences that are organised by the community. She has spoken at conferences like CTTT in Tallinn and DynamicsMinds in Slovenia. She also likes the concept of user groups so she supports the global UX User Groups with other Customer Insights fans and MVPs and the DACH Customer Insights Community which is German speaking.
In September Pauline will be back at Nordic Summit, this time in Gothenburg, where she’ll deliver the two sessions: With Great Data Comes Great Personalisation with Björn Zahnow and Getting More Out of Events in Customer Insights Journeys with Jonas Schwarzwälder. She will also run the pre-day workshop 🚀 From Journeys to Insights: A Complete CI Masterclass with Björn Zahnow.
Fun facts
As a fun fact about herself Pauline mentions she’s all about diving into the details and testing every edge of the system. Trying new things doesn’t scare her, she believes in trial and error as the best way to learn. That approach can sometimes lead to unexpected behaviour in the solutions of course, especially when you’re new to the platform!
“My first-ever workflow as a trainee ended up in a classic rookie move—a never-ending loop that crashed the whole environment! Thankfully, it was just a trial setup, but let’s just say I learned my lesson for life and now I recheck my Power Automate cloud flows very carefully.”
Glad to hear that was in a trial setup! Another fun fact Pauline shares with us is related to her learning process, especially understanding complex processes, Pauline mentions she’s a very visual learner.
“You’ll always find me with a whiteboard marker or PowerPoint open, mapping things out. In fact, my desktop is packed with PowerPoints, maybe it’s time to organize or finally give Visio a try? And the one truly organized folder on my laptop is… my Downloads folder.”
Yet another fun fact Pauline reviles is that she really doesn’t like pidgeons, in fact, she’d rather change the side of the road because of them!
Nordic Summit 2024
Pauline mentions she wanted to attend Nordic Summit 2023 after hearing so many good things about it, but it didn’t work out. So 2024 became her first time at the Nordic Summit and her first visit to Oslo, too! Being able to join as a speaker made the experience even more special, she says.
“What I really liked was the fantastic organization, everything ran so smoothly! Having so many people in one place, all passionate about the same topics, was incredibly energizing. The quiz at the end was hilarious, but my favorite part had to be the evening networking with other speakers and attendees. It was super inspiring!”
One of the sessions Pauline wants to highlight is Mats Necker’s It’s Power Automate, Not Power Integrate. It was very informative and easy to follow, Pauline mentions. She says she definitely took home new insights for her upcoming projects. And she mentions the title “come on, as a Harry Potter fan, how could I not love it?”, she says. 😊
Favourite part of the platform
What’s Paulines favourite part of the Power Platform and/or Dynamics 365? Surprisingly not, it’s something related to the topics she writes and speaks about. Pauline mentions the seamless integration between Power Automate and Customer Insights Journeys, especially with custom triggers.
“This feature transforms campaigns into even more personalized customer journeys based on any action or data change. It’s powerful to see how easily we can create new customer experiences, responding instantly and creatively to basically everything now.”
The edge cases and complex workflows? That’s where it really gets fun according to Pauline, pushing the limits to build something totally new!
Thank you Pauline for attending Nordic Summit 2024 as a speaker and for sharing your experience here on our blog! Looking forward to seeing you again! 🤗
